Sharp Grossmont Hospital Cancer Center

This project at Sharp Grossmont Hospital involved the 6,400 square foot remodel of the Radiation Oncology Department within The David & Donna Long Center for Cancer Treatment. The structure houses the Sharp’s Radiation Oncology Department and the Medical Oncology Department.

The new design reorganized the Radiation Oncology Department to improve adjacencies such as clearly separated treatment zones from clinic zones and administrative zones, and also provided a central nurse station to receive patients and facilitate the visual control of patient flow. The Radiation Oncology Department remained operational throughout construction, requiring creative problem-solving with phasing. The scope of work also included remodel of the Cancer Center’s Main Lobby.
