Mascari Warner Dinh Architects is providing architectural services for the design of a Proton Center in Southern California. The project site is approximately 1.7 acres featuring a new 38,840 SF two-story building including two proton vaults, three radio/treatment rooms and associated support spaces. 184 parking spaces (5/1000) are provided.
The design inspiration is modern building expressing new use of materials including segmented plaster panels and glass curtain-wall system, reflecting proton treatment, which is a state of the art approach to treating cancer.
The facility is being designed using an innovative modular construction method that is one of the first of its kind, providing a turnkey, fully shielded radiation treatment center. This approach reduces the construction duration, bringing the Proton Center expeditiously to the market.
